Vacation in Cala Murada

Cala Murada is located on the southeast coast of Mallorca and can be reached from the airport in about 60 minutes by car. The tranquil coastal locality offers the perfect environment for holidaymakers who want to get to know a less touristy Mallorca and long for unspoilt countryside, peace and privacy.

Our Finca Ca'n Perla is located in a quiet side street, surrounded by palm trees and old olive trees and only 15 minutes walk from the beach, supermarket and restaurant. You can see the exact location here.

Location

Cala Murada takes its name from the beautiful bay of the same name. This bay, Spanish "Cala", belongs to a whole chain of dreamlike bathing bays, the so-called Calas de Mallorca.

Cala Murada itself consists of an old town centre and fincas scattered loosely in the green landscape. It offers restaurants, supermarkets and everything for your daily needs. The year-round management also allows quiet winter holidays in Cala Murada. Fortunately, there are no large hotels or apartment houses to be found here.

Beaches

The bay Cala Murada offers a beautiful beach and crystal clear water with medium swell. Here vacationers can enjoy sun and sea or get to know the regional cuisine in the restaurant with sea view. During the high season the beach bar and a boat rental are open. Directly behind the bay, an idyllic torrent flows into a small pond where birds cavort.

Of course the other Calas are also not far away. A footpath leads to Cala Domingos in another 10 minutes. And also the other, partly farmed, partly untouched and thus more lonely Calas are worth a detour. All these bathing bays are excellent with the European Blue Flag for good bathing water.

Surrounding

Towns

In the surroundings of Cala Murada there are also larger typical Majorcan towns with historical sights and attractive shopping opportunities. The port of Portocolom is particularly attractive: it has the largest natural harbour in Mallorca. The excellently preserved historic old town nestles all around. Here and in the somewhat more touristy Neustadt there are also a few charming shops.

For larger purchases and shopping a visit to Cala D'Or is worthwhile. Especially during the season you can stroll and shop in the numerous boutiques and shops. In addition, Cala D'Or has an extensive culinary offer as well as bars and discotheques for the evening to offer.

The towns of Santanyì and Felanitx in the interior are even bigger and offer the island's typical lively weekly markets with regional products and delicacies.

Food & Drink

Mallorcans like to eat extensively. And you can do the same when you are on holiday in Cala Murada. In the immediate surroundings of our Finca Ca`n Perla as well as in the surrounding villages there are excellent local restaurants which we can warmly recommend. Whether the typical gazpacho, fresh seafood, Mallorcan hearty meat dishes or excellent homemade cakes in the afternoon - the culinary offer leaves nothing to be desired.

Culture

An excursion to the nearby monastery "San Salvador", whose origins can be traced back to the year 1348, gives every visitor a unique view over the entire island. The easiest way to reach San Salvador is by car. But the ascent and descent on foot or by bike are also very popular. Once you have reached your destination, you can stop at the monastery restaurant.

The Castell Santueri lies at an altitude of 420 metres and is one of the three remaining rock castles on Mallorca. It is privately owned but can be visited. From here you have a fantastic view.

Sports & Recreation

Besides swimming, hiking or biking in beautiful nature, sports enthusiasts can do even more in the region of Cala Murada. Tennis courts, a mini golf course, a petanca (boule) and a small sports field are available in our small village. Racing bikes, trekking bikes or mountain bikes can be rented, although some companies even offer a shuttle service to Cala Murada.

Water sports enthusiasts can sail, dive and surf in Cala Murada. In the ports of Cala D'Or, Portocolom and Porto Cristo there are charter possibilities for boats of all kinds.

Golf

Our holiday home in Cala Murada is an ideal starting point for golf lovers. Not only because on the own ground the short game can be practiced. There is also a convincing selection of golf courses in the surrounding area - one more beautiful than the other. About 10 km away is the golf course Vall D'Or with its 18 holes. It impresses with its beautiful scenery. Six other golf courses can be easily reached by car within an hour.
