Where the Cala Murada is situated

Cala Murada is situated at the southeast coast of Mallorca, the most visited holiday island of the Balearics.

The distance from the airport to the Cala Murada is approx. 65 kilometres and due to the motorway existing to LLucmajor and the very well removed roads, it only takes 50 to 60 minutes of travelling time.

Cala Murada lies approximately in the centre between the two more well-known places Cala D'Or and Porto Cristo.

The urbanisation Cala Murada

In the southeast of Mallorca, the village Cala Murada is an urbanisation which has been functioning and has already existing for a long time.

The existing urbanisation consists predominantly of houses and/or villas with appropriate properties. Thus the entire urbanisation is very green and is therefore suitable for expanded walks. The houses are used both as holiday houses and as normal houses inhabited all over the year. Thus the urbanisation is - during each season - a pleasant place for a stay.

In the Cala Murada, you will find two supermarkets, two banks, a hairdresser´s, a cosmetician´s, a laundry service and a post office beside various restaurants and bars. Also a small library is operated by the municipality.

The beaches

Cala Murada belongs to the coastal range of Manacor. This coastal range is known as having beautiful beaches and bath bays, so-called "Calas". These Calas lie in a strip of landscape almost unaffected over 6 kilometres and is usually in a nature-left condition. The entire range is proven as: "of special interest".

The urbanisation Cala Murada got its name from the appropriate bath bay Cala Murada, which is the main beach of the urbanisation. Beside this, the Gran Calas Domingos and Domingos Petit can be attained by foot very well.

All bath bays are graded excellently with the European blue flag for good bath water. All the beaches are well-kept and with crystal-clear water.

In the season (April until October) also various service facilities (beach bar, supervision, boat rental) are opened at all beaches.

The surrounding

In the periphery of approx. 20 kilometres, there are the important sports ports of Cala D'Or, Portocolom and Porto Cristo.

During the season, the centre of Cala D'Or is always a popular point of trip to strolls and in order to go shopping in the numerous fashion shops with its fashionable offers. Beyond that, Cala D'Or has an extensive culinary offer up to other offers as well as for example bars and discos.

Portocolom is a quite original municipality with the largest nature port on Mallorca. Numerous restaurants invite to spend one evening at the port.

Porto Cristo is not only well-known because of its port, but also particularly because of that famous caves "Cuevas del Drach" (dragon caves). It is an absolute duty to look at them for each Mallorca visitor.

The markets from Santanyi and Felanitx are not only liked by the native people very much, but naturally also the numerous tourists love the region and its beauties.

A trip to the close monastery of "San Salvador" (highway Portocolom to Felanitx) provides a unique view over the entire island for every single visitor. The simplest way to come up here is surely by car. The ascent (and naturally also the descent) is liked very much by cyclists and also by hikers. When you arrive on top, a nice a-turn will expect you.

Sports

In the region, a various sport offer is present so that actually for everyone should be a possibility of enjoying one´ s free time there.

In the Cala Murada, there exist some tennis courts where everybody can play. Beyond that a mini golf course, a Petanca plant (Boul) as well as a small field for any kind of sports is available.

Approx. 10 kilometres away, the nearest golf course of Vall D'Or with its 18 wholes is available. Above all, the prospect on Portocolom and the coast whithin the third tee-off is always overwhelming. Approximately 6 further golf courses are reachable within one hour by car. Thus Vall D´Or is ideal for the starting point of a golf vacation.

In the ports of Cala D'Or, Portocolom and Porto Cristo, different charter possibilities of boats of all kinds are present and available for you.

In the closer surrounding area, one will also find all possible offers concerning water sports (sailing, diving, surfing). Here, one only will have to inquire the current situation within each area.

The offer of the rental business companies of Cala D'Or concerning bicycles (tracking, racing cycles, mountain bikes), motorcycles, scooters and cars includes also the Cala Murada. Some companies will make an appropriate shuttle service available if necessary.
